Our World (Banjo Song)

As docile as quicksand,

I sink into a world that exists in the palms of your hands,

Made up of the water in your watery lips,

Made up of the gravity that exists between your hips,

And all of me can rise and fall,

There’s a universe between these four walls.

And there’s nowhere I would rather be,

Than the world you’ve created for me,

Getting drunk and laughing until it is past 3,

Time means nothing except when someone has to leave.

When you leave,

Is when the countdown begins…

Your bed…

Is my permanent vacation…

Ashes of my past reside in the below ash,

A world that has been erased,

I’m floating in your space,

Where your breath the only air,

Your words my only vocabulary,

They hover around me endlessly,

Every word is a new language; a new meaning,

Do you remember as vividly as I do?

That night we laughed until it was past 2?

And I stated it so clearly…

There’s nowhere I would rather be,

Than the world you’ve created for me,

Getting drunk and laughing until it is past 3,

Time means nothing except when someone has to leave.

And you say:

Why is there anything other than this?
